We are currently seeking trans people aged 50+ and living in Wales to participate in our study. Interested? Then please read on.

Under trans we mean anyone whose gender identity and/or gender expression differ in some way from the gender assumptions made about them at birth and the consequent biological sex assigned to them.

We’d like to learn from older trans people about their hopes, needs and expectations of health and social care in later life. We will be doing this through a series of interviews. Because we want to gain as full a picture as possible, we’re hoping to recruit people who, for example, identify as

  • transsexual, transgender, non-binary, cross-dresser, transvestite, gender-variant or gender-queer.

What would be required of me?

You would be required to take part in two interviews with Christine and one peer-interviewer from the trans community. These would be held at a time and place convenient to you. Each interview should last around 1½ hours. As a small token of our gratitude, you would receive a One4all Gift card voucher to the value of £20.

Please contact Christine (c.dobbs@swansea.ac.uk) for further details.
